The selection process at ASP is very strict (1% of 15k+) and the path to graduation is even tougher requiring from students concentration on both vertical in-depth topics and horizontal broad view knowledge.
Whether in corporates, consulting, entrepreneurship, academia, architecture and design practices, our alumni distinguish themselves for their achievements, talent and passion.
Environmental and social sustainability is at the core of ASP foundation, as well as teamwork and cross-disciplinarity. Most of our associates’ careers set them apart for their dedication to solve the big challenges of humanity.
In the race for globalization and digitalization, the invisible Hand of markets left someone behind. Throughout the years, media attention shed a light on the social drawback of people and resources intensive exploration. This awareness is driving a broad cultural shift that touches all the players of the system: from final users to corporates, from investors to governments. The whole ecosystem is caring more about “Impact”. A many different levels.
High-end consumers are increasingly avoiding unethical companies. Companies highly commit to improve the quality of life of the workforce and their families. International corporations have realized the importance of outreach to the communities they function in. Corporate leaders are motivated to balance social and environmental concerns with the need to make profit. The impact on social and environmental aspects is becoming part of the core business. Corporate Social Responsibility should be considered nor a potential business increaser only neither a mere “greenwashing”. Responsibility has value in itself an it is about time to deal with it.
Social entrepreneurship represents the current evolution of this positive mindset: some innovators put social Impact at the center of their business. Empowering families, communities and ecology. The invisible hand of markets should be “moved” by an invisible heart [cit Sir Ronald Cohen]. Impact on society should be – and it is likely to become – a fundamental driver for business strategy.
In this event, ASP Alumni will:
* analyze how big international companies are committed on the topic of social responsibility;
* look for the most interesting initiatives linked to social innovation and social entrepreneurship;
* investigate on the systemic change and impulse of social innovation on the whole society.
We do our best in organising educational events twice a year, usually one in the spring and one in the fall.
We invite international lecturers, partner companies and associations to cope with trending topic in the field of technological and social innovation, entrepreneurship and global challenges.
We treasure our associates diversity, that’s why we try to always address a topic from a broad range of different perspectives.
Building a network is not just about great ideas, classes, conferences and achievements. It’s about people, and having the ability to place the right questions to the right person is priceless.
As we experienced great empathy in other aspers, we started building events to create new personal links and strengthen the existing ones.
Skiing sessions, summer challenges, the Carton Rapid Race, aperitivos, they are all about getting in contact with possible business partners, suppliers, perspective employees or employers, mentors or just friends.
WE GIVE BACK
WHAT WE WERE LUCKY TO RECEIVE
Mentoring and coaching is one of the ASP Alumni most appreciated activities.
We all need help from time to time, and there is nothing better to get advised by talented people who suffered the same struggle before you.
We pair one-to-one alumni and students, we organise career seminars, we put in contact senior alumni with junior ones. And we are happy to constantly see the willingness to help each other.
